I don't have anything negative to say, I am very impressed with the Rocky Mountain Travel Guide! It is very user-friendly and laid out very well. The part that caught my eye the most was "how to avoid the crowds" which seems almost impossible these days. Additional highlights for me include:
- Headers at the top of every page to prevent having to scroll to remember what you are reading
- How you broke everything up into sections via park, followed by activities, lakes, hikes, and waterfalls
- I especially liked how you rated each hike and provided round trip distance and elevation gain
- The activities section is so great too!

I typically love spending hours researching and planning trips to new places. But when I started planning my September honeymoon in the Canadian Rockies, I quickly felt overwhelmed trying to build a few weeks itinerary. That's when I thought of Cayleigh! She jumped right in with questions—budget, level of hiking experience, any activities that are off-limits (via Ferrata because I am scared of heights!), even what time we like to get up in the morning to make sure we had a vacation that was completely designed for us.
The itinerary has everything we need including full days of activities with drive times, restaurant recommendations, tips, and information on each day's activities such as hiking options, crowds, and parking. All I have to say is that I wish this guide was around years ago! I have spent many years in Banff National Park & Yoho National Park and have never realized the adventures that are tucked away.
We were quick to book ourselves a night at Emerald Lake Lodge and enjoy the amazing views of the Emerald Lake Trail shown in this guide after it captured our attention. I truly thought that the photos would make the place looks better than it really was, but I was wrong… David and Cayleigh give you just enough sample size in this guide to be able to go and witness the amazing sights for yourself!
I had also never thought to fish in Banff National Park until I read this guide. The Bow Rivers color is absolutely stunning and the fish are second to none! For those of you that haven’t taken the time to visit this section of the Bow River, you must put it on your next agenda!
